  • Jerk Store

Favorite ice cream memory would be creating the entire bowl myself from start to finish on a dairy farm.

    Craving Jeni’s Savannah Buttermint

  • Jen

UGH. I did grad school in Columbus, OH, and I miss Jeni’s scoops so, so much. I’m always craving brambleberry crisp! My favorite ice cream memory is pushpops as a kid. Glad Jeni’s plays to my nostalgia over the summer. 🙂

  • Becca

Loved using my allowance during the summer to buy ice cream at the neighborhood pool when I was younger!

  • Becca

    and love the buckeye flavor.

  • this might be cheating, but my favorite ice cream memory actually involves Jeni’s ice cream!

~4 years ago I had moved to the west coast and one day at work I got an unexpected delivery. I opened up the box to find a cooler with 6 pints of Jeni’s ice cream (which I had never heard of before that) that a friend surprised shipped to me. The idea of getting ice cream in the mail completely blew my mind and needless to say all of my coworkers were crazy envious!

Jeni’s also introduced me to the idea of whiskey in ice cream and it’s now my all-time favorite. So my craving is ALWAYS for whiskey pecan!

  • cindy ensley

My favorite ice cream memory is definitely having a banana split at Leatherby’s…I am pretty sure it was my very first banana split ever. I was probably 4-years-old and it was total magic. Lately, I’ve been totally craving that Key-Lime Frozen Yogurt Jeni’s has been blowing up on social media…it looks so good!

  • Nicole

This might be the best giveaway ever! 🙂 My favorite ice cream memory is riding bikes with my friends to get mint chip. My Dad always hated mint, so we never had it in the house. Jeni’s goat cheese with cherries is what I’d like to have right now, please 🙂

  • Tracy

oooh!! I’ve never had jeni’s and have always wanted to try!! I always loved bubble gum ice cream or rainbow sherbet as a kid. There was something about that color that always enticed me….

The pistachio honey ice cream caught my eye!

  • sara forte

Oh man, I’ve been DYING to try these! I dream of visiting her ice cream shop. My favorite ice cream memory is my mom taking my sister and I to Thriftys as kids for cones after swim practice, the dr. etc. It was by no means artisan stuff, but it was where we always went – inexpensive and predictable.
I have heard amazing things about the brown butter brittle flavor and must try it at some point!!
Congrats on the new site you guys. It looks amazing!

  • My favorite ice cream memory is going to the local shop with my brothers and sisters in the back of my dad’s truck.
Pistachio Honey is my absolute favorite Jeni’s flavor! I haven’t had the sandwiches, but they look wonderful!

  • shuttertoast

I’ve always loved practical scientific applications, but was a lousy student in high school. As such, I don’t remember much from Chem12 except a novel ice cream class competition in which we were tasked with making our own flavor from scratch without using electricity. One bright mind thought to use the snow outside and, before long, we were all out in the dead of winter on our hands and knees, churning our ingredient bowls in snowbank pits. We mixed until our limbs were blue and then buried our concoctions with a culinary prayer. I was never more excited for next day’s class and, while my Trail-Mix Marvel didn’t disappoint, I definitely would’ve attempted a Bangkok Peanut if I’d thought of it

  • My favorite ice cream memory (and there are a lot to choose from!) is when our family friend used to drop by around dinner time in the summer and bring moon pies for dessert. We never knew exactly when he’d stop by, so they were always an unexpected treat.

And I’m craving the Cedarwood Vanilla ice cream. Who can resist that description “Notes of balsam, amber, wood, and donuts. The smell of a cashmere sweater on a nice man.”

  • Anna

My favorite ice cream memory actually involves Jeni’s! The day before I gave birth to my beautiful daughter- my husband had four pints of Jeni’s shipped to our house with a Jeni’s onesie!!! I sat on the couch that night and devoured half a pint of salty caramel- the contractions almost didn’t matter because the ice cream was so good! We took our daughter there on her first birthday- and now jeni’s has became our little families birthday tradition!

Currently craving a trio sundae- with salty caramel, dark chocolate, and brown butter- of course salty caramel sauce, fresh made whipped cream, and sprinkles to top it off!!! Yum!!!

  • Every summer when I was young, I would go down to the Jersey Shore with my family. We looked forward to this trip for a few reasons. Aside from going to the beach and building sand castles, we would go to Springer’s for ice cream. We could get any flavor we wanted in a waffle cone. My favorite flavor was and still is cookie dough.

I would love to try the Whiskey & Pecans flavor from Jeni’s!

  • Jessica

In the summer, I always looked forward to going to my grandparents’ house and churning homemade ice cream on the back porch. We could only make one kind (vanilla), but we always enjoyed it. Right now, I’d love to be enjoying a scoop of Wildberry Lavender!

  • Rachel

Mmm, I love ice cream! My mom is an ice cream addict and she loved to eat it when we were growing up. But of course you can’t eat ice cream and not share it with the kids! So we got ice cream pretty much every night for dessert! I’m curious about Jenni’s goat cheese cherry flavor – sounds really tasty!

  • Cassandra

My favorite ice cream memory is wet walnut sundaes – I loved them as a kid with frozen custard!! To go along with that memory I would like to try Jen’s Black walnut divinity

  • Stephanie K

My favorite memory involves my Nana taking me and my brother to get ice cream at a local ice cream parlor. They had a nine foot tall cow statue in front of their building. I love Jeni’s salty caramel ice cream. Their orchid vanilla ice cream sandwiches are amazing too.

  • My favorite ice cream memory is licking gelato while wandering around Florence. Something I will never, ever forget. I’m totally craving the milkiest chocolate in the world from dear Jeni!

  • Don B in Atlanta

@jenisicecreams @TTableKitchen So many fond memories of ice cream, but the one that stands out is when our uncle Mike would ask us kids if we wanted ice cream in the middle of an Ohio summer. Of course, we all gave a resounding ‘yes!’, so he’d pile us into his car, roll up the windows, and we’d sweat our way over to a local ice cream place. So ready for the cool, creamy treat by the time we got there. It was well worth the ride! My all-time favorite Jeni’s flavor is Roasted Strawberry Buttermilk! It tastes like summer to me.

  • acespring05

@jenisicecreams @turntablekitchen My childhood memories of the ice cream truck coming down the block playing that song that you just new it was ice cream time are some of the best in my life. Whiskey & Pecans Please!!!

  • You guys. I can’t stop coming to your site to turn on the audio player while I’m at the computer. LOVE IT.

also — yay Jeni’s! I could go for the darkkkk chocolate right now. : )

  • Thanks, Shanna! Soon we’ll have it on all mobile devices, too 🙂

  • Fresh and Foodie

Growing up, my family and I would visit the local ice cream shop on warm summer nights. I always ordered the same thing — peanut butter chocolate in a cup. One night, when I was six or seven, I was feeling brave and ordered it in a cone. The ice cream teetered on the edge, each lick sending it closer and closer to falling. Eventually it did fall — straight onto the sidewalk. I cried. To this day, I’m much more likely to order ice cream in a cup than in a cone.

I really love Jeni’s salted caramel with bitter fudge sauce. So glad we finally have a brick and mortar Jeni’s in Chicago!

  • Megan Town

My favorite ice cream memory is a bit of an oddity. Being a child who moved around every two years on average, I always had trouble establishing local favorites due to how picky I was. After moving from the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolis to a tiny, rural Northern Montana town of 10,000 people, all of my favorite chains were nowhere to be in sight. I had no idea what I’d do without my Dairy Queen dipped cones when the summer temperatures hit. We happened across a local mom and pop ice cream and soda shop to which I tearfully resisted anything on the menu (imagine a child RESISTING ice cream!). My parents knew I loved root beer floats, so they coaxed me into trying a homemade soft-serve vanilla with orange soda as that was the rotating float offering on the menu. This opened my horizons to try “new” flavor combinations and to branch out from the local chains, which is a mindset that I still embody today.

Right now I’m craving the Buckeye State! There’s something about the smooth peanut butter chocolate mixture that I can’t get enough of!

  • Lolli11

My sister and her boyfriend took us younger siblings to get ice cream cones at DQ. We were then driving around our neighborhood with cones in hand. My sister’s boyfriend was driving a bit crazy to have fun. He took a sharp turn and shouted “hold on to your ice cream!” I have never forgotten that moment and still use the phrase to this day when I drive crazy (not on purpose). 🙂 I love the flavors with the goat cheese – Goat Cheese with Red Cherries – YUM

  • zinzarin

I’m craving the Orchid Vanilla sandwich right now, because it reminds me of the first time I tasted an ice cream with a non-traditional flavor. It was a rosemary ice cream, and it was served during the dessert course for a very good friend’s wedding. It was amazing, and helped to change my preconceived ideas about food and flavors.

  • Sarah D

i absolutely love jeni’s BRAMBLEBERRY ice cream flavor. it is my go-to option every time i visit a store. however, i always crave the pumpkin that is seasonal and comes around every fall, which is a great memory of mine (getting pumpkin ice cream ever fall/winter)

  • Jessica

While all of my Jeni’s memories are sweet, my favorite has to be on my wedding day! It was the hottest day of the summer in 2012 and my husband Sam and I shared 4 of our favorite Jeni’s flavors (The Buckeye State, Riesling Poached Pear, Whisky and Pecan, and Cherry Lambic Sorbet) with our 200 guests at our Columbus wedding reception. Instead of cutting a cake, we decided it would be more appropriate for us to share our favorite dessert – Jeni’s splendid ice creams. Sharing our first scoop as husband and wife was the perfect way for us to spread our love for Columbus with all our out of town guests.
Currently, I am craving The Milkiest Chocolate in the World!

  • Jeni’s: A Haiku

    the polar vortex
    almond brittle warmed our hearts
    my soul’s cold again

  • lizzie

When I was eight years old, my mom was pregnant with my little brother and had a constant craving for Baskin Robbins’ daquiri ice flavored ice cream. It’s an electric blue sherbet with a very unique taste. I have never had so much ice cream in my life – I think we went enough times that I tried almost every single flavor of Baskin Robbins. It was so special to share that time with my mom before it wasn’t just us two.

My favorite flavor of Jeni’s is Buckeye State. They just opened a location in Chicago and even though it’s thirty minutes and two trains away, I still drag my boyfriend there on the regular. It’s way too good.

  • Growing up in Las Vegas, there weren’t a ton of independent Ice Cream shops, but one day, my dad took my two sisters on a daddy daughter date. It started with a visit to a shop where he surprised us with a giant 15 scoop ice cream sundae and ended with a visit to a local planetarium. It’s one of my favorite memories to this day!

  • We didn’t grow up with ice cream in the freezer. I think I’ve made up for it. Though, my mom always came through with Ice Cream Cakes from BR for our birthday. If I had to choose one flavor, I’d go Savannah Buttermint.

  • adrienne

My favorite ice cream memory is leaving campus for lunch during my senior year with my best friend, driving around, eating ice cream cones and listening to 80’s dance pop.

  • Kerry

My grandpa picking us up every Saturday in his pickup truck to go get a cone if the local ice cream shoppe flavor of the week.

  • Danielle

i used to LOVE going to get soft serve with my dad at carvels – the banana french toast flavor looks SO good! dtdady at gmail dot com

  • Jill

My favorite ice cream memory is getting chocolate dipped vanilla soft serve and spooning out all the ice cream leaving just a cone and chocolate shell. Then eating the chocolate shell. My favorite Jeni’s flavor is the lemon blueberry frozen yogurt.

  • Tiffany Lester

Favorite Jeni is Pear Reisling Sorbet. Eating McDonalds ice cream cones in 100 degree weather with my sisters and racing to see who finishes first!

  • Robert Dumville

Craving Jeni’s goat cheese and tart cherry! Growing up as a kid, our contribution to any social event in the summer was homemade frozen custard. The idea was to get the kids involved in taking turns cranking it and then enjoy it by the time dinner was done. We tried different flavors, but the favorite was always Heath Bar Crunch. Now I’m grown up and love doing it for others myself!

  • Stephanie Kubala

Orchid vanilla sounds divine! My memory is waiting for the ice cream truck outside of camp in the park! Every artificial flavor was amazing when I was little!

  • Morgan Smith

Cranking on my grandpa’s ice cream maker…the ice cream was not the best but the memory was!!!
Whiskey and Pecans sounds like a great ice cream to me

  • Kateleesi Findlay-Shirras

I spent all summer working my way through Jeni’s ice cream recipe book! It lead for a very delicious season, which I hope to repeat this year.
Definitely craving the delicate Backyard mint flavor… yum!

  • My favorite ice cream memory is eating a scoop of vanilla-bourbon ice cream in the rain in Munich’s Viktualienmarkt. I was in high school, and it was my first time traveling without my parents.
    Wildberry Lavender sounds absolutely amazing

  • Charlene Taibi-taylor

my favorite memory is soft serve ice cream on the boardwalk at the jersey shore…
    fav flavor is orchid vanilla

  • Laura Dembowski

My favorite ice cream memory is going to get a scoop of ice cream after a bad day at school. I loved trying new flavors. I am so craving Jeni’a salty caramel. It’s so good!
