Single Serving: King Tuff – Black Moon Spell

King Tuff Band Photo

Raucous garage rocker King Tuff (a.k.a. Kyle Thomas) just dropped the title track from his forthcoming third full length Black Moon Spell. He also has an incredibly awesome publicity photo (see above). It (the song – not the publicity shot) is a grinding monster of a rock n’ roll jam constructed with a sludgy, grooving, reverb-drenched guitar riff and Ty Segall on drums.

If you’re not enjoying this tune as much as the girl in the song’s video, you’re probably doing something wrong. You can preorder the album from Sub Pop and receive a special limited-edition version of the record on glow-in-the-dark with black splatter vinyl. Mr. Tuff reports that “Every song on Black Moon Spell was written without giving a shining fuck about nothing.” Sounds good to me.
