Single Serving: Pendentif – Pendentif EP

French Indie Pop PendentifHave I ever told you how much I love Bandcamp? I love it a lot. If I had more free time I’d get lost in that site every single day. This weekend I spent about an hour or so searching for bands from Bordeaux (long story) and stumbled upon many awesome finds with Pendentif being one of my favorites. As I discovered, Bordeaux actually has a pretty awesome music scene. Yet another reason I need to convince Kasey that it should be one of our next travel destinations. The trio’s eponymous debut EP collects four air-light indie pop jams. Woven together with brightly colored and upbeat rhythms, the 4 tracks collected here feature lovely French vocals buoyed by reedy, smooth harmonies and shimmering, catchy melodies. These tunes are sure to lighten your mood and elevate your spirits.

I love your blog, but I can’t listen to the songs here. 🙁

  • Hi Idle Wife. Is this a problem you are having only with this post, or in general? Also, is it a new problem or have you never been able to listen to the songs? In addition to streaming the tracks using exfm, you should be able to download the song to play on your computer. If you are on a PC, right click on the track and then select “Save Link As”. Then click “save”. Let me know if that doesn’t work.

In general. Was it always exfm? I used to be able to listen to them… It’s cool, though. I can listen to it in google reader just fine. I usually like coming over in case I want to download (plus it makes stopping songs a little easier — less scrolling). I don’t like downloading unless I want the song. The downloading isn’t a problem at all.

  • No exfm is new. I’ll check into why this might be happening. Thanks for letting us know!

    Hi Matthew,

long time no talk, this is François, from Bordeaux, my last comment was about the last Radiohead album…which has been a while, isn’t it?
Still happy with your reviews here, which are like a gold mine to dig for cool musical moments. Some nuggets, like Evenings which is one of my favorites of the year.
I do not know what your long story about Bordeaux is coming from, but you are still welcome here in Bordeaux.
This is the town of Noir Desir…ok, probably unknown to you guys in the US, but according to me the greatest band in Europe around year 2000, until they tragically disappeared. Energetic and poetic.

Now young people follow “Be Quiet”. In a cooler mood, check out “Les barbises”.

Ok, this will not convince Kasey. For her we have, well, uh…wine, mushrooms, duck meat….the best food in the world, but everybody knows about that, no need to explain.

  • Francois! Good to hear from you friend. We’re still hoping to make it to Bordeaux sometime. I’ll definitely be checking out Noir Desir, Be Quiet and Les Barbises. Thanks for the recommendations. I hope all is well!
