I fall in love with Los Angeles’ White Fence every time I hear them. I suppose I just have a weak spot in my music loving heart for smoked-out, echo and reverb-soaked, slacker psych-rock. Admittedly there are plenty of lo-fi, psychedelic rock bands making the rounds these days (especially on the excellent Woodsist label), but there are very very few artists/bands who do it half as well as Tim Presley, the man behind White Fence, who effortlessly makes acid-washed pop music that sounds as distorted and bright as a rainbow being slowly pushed backward through a prism. Buy it at insound!
