Memoryhouse is the Guelph, Ontario duo Evan and Denise. Loosely speaking, they can be viewed as part of the slowly growing chillwave scene. You may recall that I included their gorgeous first single “To The Lighthouse” on the Musical Pairings chillwave mix. Viewed more broadly though, it is more accurate to just say that they craft beautiful, ethereal pop songs that seem to hang gently in the air. This cover of Grizzly Bear’s “Foreground” is a perfect example: soft acoustic guitar sparkles alongside a gently droning production and Denise’s lovely but affectless vocals. Their 7″ for “To The Lighthouse” is scheduled for release on March 2. It is limited to 500 copies and can be preordered on their Myspace page. It is sure to sell out, so get it while it is hot!
