Single Serving: Future Islands – "Tin Man" single

Future Islands are a 3 piece synth-pop trio based in Baltimore. The trio consists of members J. Gerrit Welmers (synthesizers and programming), William Cashion (bass), and Samuel T. Herring (vocals). They are recent Thrill Jockey signees and they are scheduled to release their latest album, In Evening Air, on May 4th. “Tin Man” is the first single released from the album and sounds great. The track opens with bright, reverberating steel-drum synths before introducing the melodrama of Herring’s raspy vocals. I think you’ll enjoy this one.
