Single Serving: Los Angeles Police Dept – Hard

Screen Shot 2016-02-11 at 2.36.14 PM

We’ve been following the music of Los Angeles Police Dept (a.k.a. Ryan Pollie) for a hot minute now (ever since first hearing his dreamy, psych pop tune “She Came Through (Again)” a few years back). He’s been building his credentials since that time with premieres on FADER and VICE and a 7″ for Fat Possum Records.

As good as his past work has been, it’s his latest release, “Hard,” that we think may be his best yet. It’s a feather-light vibe with a bright and catchy melody that sounds just slightly off-kilter as it propels forward upon a tense but soaring progression. Give it a listen and see for yourself.
