UK-based Ardyn is the project of twins Rob and Katy Pearson. “Universe” is their debut single and, to my ears, it’s an exceptionally promising first impression to the up-and-coming duo.
It opens with a subtle, pastoral ambiance (reminds me a little of “Pyramid Song”) that conveys Katy’s gliding vocals along as the tune twists and turns alongside a somber, but quite lovely, arrangement. It all converges upon a sparkling, uplifting crescendo as she sweetly intones, “I told you, don’t give up now.” Quite impressive.
