The inclusion of children in pop songs is a bit of a musical trope, but it’s really hard to get tired of when it sounds as irresistibly happy as “Laïka.” 30 elementary school kids were enlisted to sing the chorus on the single off of Sputnik, the debut EP from the French duo Camel Power Club. It’s a tropical track laced with funk, and the pop sensibility combined with the undeniably cute chorus gives this spring day music a level of irreverence befitting a field trip.
