Single Serving: Dum Dum Girls – Jail La La 7"

The Dum Dum Girls are an L.A. based group led by Dee Dee (a.k.a. Kristin Gundred) that recently signed to SubPop. They’ve been garnering a lot of buzz in the music blog world. So what do they sound like? Well, The Dum Dum Girls owe equally to 50’s era girl groups and punk rock, and if you like the idea of reverb soaked, pop-rock girl-groups dripping with strut and swagger who idolize Iggy Pop, the Ramones and the Rolling Stones, you’re going to really feel this track. I know I do.

“Jail La La” is an older DDG track that was re-recorded for their SubPop premier, titled I Will Be, scheduled for release on March 26, 2010. It will be preceded by a 7″ single of the SubPop version of “Jail La La” which is scheduled for release on February 16, 2010. Download the MP3 below and check them out for yourself.
