Single Serving: Thom Yorke – Live at the Echoplex

As you may have heard, Thom Yorke from Radiohead has formed a new band including the likes of folks such as Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers and producer Nigel Godrich. And, the group has been performing gigs in L.A. Until the group decides to start hitting a few other cities, there are always bootleg recordings for the rest of us to listen to. These recordings are all from the 10/2/2009 gig at the Echoplex and were compiled by Atease message board member “Atoms for Peace” from a number of different sources. The zip file contains recordings of every song from the set, and I’ve made the new material available for download separately (which is probably all you really need anyways):

Thom Yorke – live at the Echoplex (zip file)

The Thom Yorke Band – Open the Flood Gates

The Thom Yorke Band – Lotus Flower
The Thom Yorke Band – Skirting on the Surface
The Thom Yorke Band – Judge Jury Executioner
The Thom Yorke Band – Paperbag Writer
The Thom Yorke Band – The Hollow Earth
The Thom Yorke Band – Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses

    Hi Motovres!

You are absolutely correct – Paperbag Writer was from on the Com Lag EP. But I do think this is the first time I've ever heard of it having been performed live – and I really like the live version. I would have mentioned, but I thought it might be TMI.

Anyways, Beck is currently releasing the tracks he recorded with MGMT and Devendra Banhart. I'm collecting them one at a time – and once they are all released – you will be able to download them here!

Thanks for posting. I really love the blog. The quality of the Echoplex recordings is quite low. It's quite low for sound too. Any thoughts?

  • Matthew

Hi Clancy, thanks for the comment! At the time I posted this back in October, these were the best quality recordings available (note that they are compiled from various sources and are therefore at different qualities). I haven't checked to see if a better quality recording later surfaced, but if you were keen to find out – I'd recommend stopping by http://www.ateaseweb.com/mb to take a look.

Thanks! I've pulled other stuff and was happy with it. The quality that you post is usually really high. Thanks again.I'll look at that link.Happy New Year.CD

  • Matthew

Thanks Clancy! I do try to stick to posting only the highest quality recordings because I don't like listening to anything else. This was somewhat of an exception because it was the first recording of Thom Yorke's other band. Happy New Year!
