If you’ve ever found yourself wondering in a highly specifically manner what (should they exist, meet and form a band with one another) the earnest younger brothers of Beach Fossils might sound like, Chicago’s NE-HI might just be the answer. Thanks to Quartertonality, each thought I may have held regarding ways in which to describe their sound (anthemic, reverb, surf-pop, hooks etc.) have already been laid out far more adroitly than I could muster. The words ultimately matter little, it’s the music that deserves a chance. If the mood strikes, grab it on vinyl from Manic Static like me.
