Sounds Delicious: Yumi Zouma – She’s Electric (Oasis Cover)

We’re so excited to finally share the first single from our Sounds Delicious series – Yumi Zouma‘s cover of Oasis’ “She’s Electric.” As you’ve probably heard, we asked Yumi Zouma to do a full album cover of Oasis’ (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? exclusively for our Sounds Delicious vinyl subscription club. So, yeah, there’s more where this came from including YZ’s reinterpretations of “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova,” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger.”

That’s the beautiful album art above. It was created by the super talented Julia Rothman who explained that, “The abstract forms are based on the original album cover photo and use the palette. The idea is that the original is broken down and made more ethereal, like what Yumi has done to the sound.”

It’s vinyl only (although the vinyl includes a digital download) and we’re only doing one pressing that is limited to a mere 1000 copies worldwide. It’s exclusive to Sounds Delicious. Sign up for a 1-mo, 3-mo, 6-mo, or 12-mo gift and you’ll get one while supplies last.

Other artists participating in the series include Ben Gibbard (Postal Service/Death Cab For Cutie) covering Teenage Fanclub’s Bandwagonesque, Jonathan Rado (Foxygen) covering Bruce Springsteen’s Born To Run, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart covering Tom Petty’s Full Moon Fever; and many more that we’ll be announcing soon.

Today was a special one as I just (15 mins ago) received the “Sounds Delicious: Yumi Zouma – She’s Electric” album 🙂
Its playing while I’m typing this.
This album really sounds great. The super relaxing sound of Yumi Zouma fits the Oasis songs very well.
It sure “sounds delicious” to me. An excellent first release ! Well done !!
And for me a great introduction to Yumi Zouma.

    Kind regards,

    Arno (Netherlands)
