Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I’ll admit that it’s been a little hard to feel celebratory these past few weeks. No matter what your political views are, our country is going through an uncertain time and as someone who is pretty young, I’ve been surprised at just how emotional I’ve felt watching all of these events unfold.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday and I know that I have a lot to be grateful for this year. I hope that we can all pause for a moment and remind each other that there is still a lot of love out there.

This year, we’re cooking our first turkey in our home in Seattle and I’m hoping that all of the kids love it as much as I do. I’m also secretly hoping everyone passes out early so that Matt and I can enjoy an adult beverage and watch a movie.

We’ve extended our pre-Black Friday offer: when you buy a Coffee & Vinyl Pairings gift through 12 am on Saturday, you’ll get a free 7″ vinyl from our archives. No code necessary!

A Thanksgiving playlist for while you cook and/or eat.

Stuffing! (If you’re still looking for inspiration…)

A pumpkin-chocolate cake, if you’re not into pie. (But here’s a pie recipe, too).

A cocktail, for while you wait for your turkey (or a nightcap)

9 cookbooks worth gifting

Shopping therapy: a red pom pom sweater (40% off!)

Damn, I just found this website, enjoying so much, then…booom! There it is! Whining about the election… just stop already! ENOUGH! Oh well, I found ‘Turntable Kitchen’, I can lose it just as quickly. 🙁

Hey Martha. Thanks for stopping by our site and immediately whining about the content. ENOUGH! This is our site and our space. If you don’t like what we have to say, go somewhere else.

Martha. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I don’t normally respond to comments like this because frankly, I don’t normally get comments like this. But this is a safe space that’s welcoming TO ALL. Including you! I’m sorry that you misread what I’ve written, which is that “our country is going through an uncertain time and as someone who is pretty young, I’ve been surprised at just how emotional I’ve felt watching all of these events unfold.” Perhaps you’re just looking for opportunities to complain about folks “whining” about the election which has inarguably divided our country? This is, above all, my website, where I have written about many personal topics including loss, grief, motherhood, and more. If you don’t like it, feel free to “lose it” as you say.
