There is a lovely Golden Age-sheen to this swaying ballad by London-based duo Amelia Rivas and Christian Pinchbeck that I find irresistible. The couple have been recording together as Elephant for nearly three years now and their latest pair of singles come after a near break-up and the subsequent resolution. Their most recent single “Shapeshifter” is buoyed by a feather light melody as Rivas croons about a troubled romance that she just can’t walk away from, deciding to just give in to it as she coos, “take me back to your room.” Take a listen.
