Single Serving: Widowspeak – The Dark Age

Widowspeak’s Almanac was already one of my most anticipated albums of 2013, but hearing this track just got me even more excited about the band’s sophomore LP. Sharp, spindly guitars swirl like smoke around a reverb-drenched melody and singer Molly Hamilton’s cozy, warm croon. It’s awesome. Speaking of Molly, you can read a 5 Questions we did with her in Fall 2011 if you’d like.

Almanac comes out January 22 via Captured Tracks. You can preorder it now.

Are you guys doing to do another top 7″s/singles of the year again? That post last year was what got me following you guys!

  • Matthew

Almost certainly. It’s one of my favorite posts each year. I like writing that more than even my top albums of the year list. With that said, I haven’t started actually writing it yet (though I’ve been maintaining a list). It may not come until the beginning of the new year, but it’ll definitely be coming.
