Turntable Kitchen’s ‘Fall Dinner’ Mix

Welcome to another meal-themed Turntable Kitchen mixtape (you may remember our Breakfast Mix from a couple of months back). For this one, Kasey asked me to compile “five or six songs” to accompany her Fall Dinner Menu post. Obviously I couldn’t stop with only six tracks, so you’re getting a full fledged mix.

My goal was to compile a list that could accompany both your time working in the kitchen and the dinner itself. With that in mind, the mix is intended to have a certain ebb and flow that might correspond to the mood of a warm and comforting fall meal. That said, I also recognize that your time in the kitchen might vary depending on what you’re cooking and your time around the table might vary from person to person. That’s OK. The main idea is that it starts relatively energetically, slowly builds, drops a little in tempo, and then finds a nice groove before finishing things out on a very chill note. You can loop it and let it start all over. Enjoy!

Whoa! Massive fail. I’m not sure what happened but the tracks were definitely messed up. I’ve re-uploaded and corrected the problem. Everything should play fine now.

I’m loading the new version as we speak. It was just about a year ago that I remember wandering through the airport alone (on the way to meet my family) which is a rarity listening to NO and White Denim thanks to your mixes. Next week I get my solo flight time again and am looking forward to listening to this new mix.
    Thanks!!!
and the JR Jones is righteous.

In other news, have you heard Dr. Devito… great vibe coming off of them.

That is so awesome! I’m glad to know you’ve been listening along for so long and that I’ve been able to introduce you to some great tunes. I haven’t checked out Dr. Devito yet though. Thanks for returning the favor!
