Single Serving: Fialta – 3P

San Luis Obispo is a stunning little city.  Laying quietly off the Pacific Coast Highway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, it features rugged and hilly outdoors, stunning shorelines that include striking rock formations, and temperate, sunny weather with a laid-back vibe.  And not only is S.L.O. the home of mutli-instrumentalist/multi-vocalist quartet Fialta, but there is the sense that they couldn’t have come from anywhere else.  Their three-track intro EP is a fun-loving and eclectic mix of gooey, cooing, and hand-clap loving indie-pop. It opens with the lovely “Summer Winter” which is followed by the slow groove and gentle sway of the blinking and brightly-lit ballad “Drafty Rooms” and ends with the sweet and bubbling “Porphyria’s Lover.”  Get it at Bandcamp.

Thanks for posting this! SLO is amazing – the happiest place on earth apparently produces happy music as well :)

So I’m just waiting for the day The Ellen Show contacts Fialta and asks, “When can you be on the show?” I’ll be in the front row.
