I stumbled upon Portland’s Boyscout Discovery while browsing through the site of the always-excellent fmly the other day, and was immediately hooked. Sparkling sonic-collages that have a certain real-world urban-ambiance owing to the use of field-recordings and unusual samples playing alongside ringing melodic tones and the occasional jacked-vocal snippet (such as the prominent sample from Scout Niblett’s “Safety Pants” on their track “Por Avion”). Pure love.
