Single Serving: Beck’s Record Club feat. Liars, St. Vincent & Os Mutantes Cover INXS’ Kick

The fourth installment in Beck’s Record Club has been finally released in its entirety.  So although Kasey has posted a great, easy recipe for homemade flat bread over in the Kitchen that you’ll definitely want to try, I’ll be forgoing the usual Musical Pairing in favor of posting this latest Record Club album.  For the fourth Record Club Beck was joined by St. Vincent, Liars and Os Mutantes to cover INXS’ Kick.  There are a lot of highlights in this collection, and it is my favorite Record Club so far.  “Guns In The Sky” is a heavy, funky jam.  “New Sensation” is turned into a duet featuring Annie from St. Vincent and Angus from Liars.  Angus tries a catchy faux-rap on “Mediate.”  Annie coos on “I Need You Tonight” and also tackles some beautiful vocal duties on “Never Tear Us Apart.”  Which is to say this is a fun collection.
